Technical Application Fields (TAF)

The program in Computational Engineering offers a number of specialization areas called Technical Application Fields (TAF). Students in the bachelor program have to select their TAFs during the second semester. Candidates for the master program must declare in the application form their selected TAF. The TAFs currently offered by the program are listed bellow together with a detailed description of the subjects:

Mechatronics
Computational Optics
Information Technology
Thermo-and Fluid dynamics
Mechanics and Dynamics
Computational Materials Science
Medical Engineering
Automatic Control

The academic advisor for the bachelor and master programs and the advisors of the TAFs will assist students with their choice. Students with a Bachelor´s degree in in Computer Science (and Engineering) or similar – without a special engineering subject – are requested to apply for the TAF Medical Engineering.
