O-Phase for incoming Bachelor students
Important information in advance:
When? Friday (October the 11th, 2024) from 3 p.m. to Sunday (October the 13th, 2024) approx. 6 p.m.
Where? First floor Department EEI (Cauerstraße 7-9)
First meeting point? On Friday (October the 11th, 2024) already at 2.15 pm between the two wooden lecture halls (Cauerstraße 5a, 91058 Erlangen)
For whom? Study programs for which we offer the O-Phase:
- Electrical Engineering-Electronics-Information Technology (BSc)
- Information and Communication Technology (BSc)
- Mechatronics (BSc)
- Industrial Engineering – Electrical Engineering (BSc)
- Computational Engineering (BSc)
- Materials Science and Engineering (BSc)
- Nanotechnology (BSc)
- AI Materials Technology (BSc)
What do I need?
- Certificate of enrolment for one of the listed study programs (digital or analog)
- Identity card (to check whether you are really the person enrolled)
- 5 €, in cash as personal contribution to the costs for food and drinks
- A bicycle for Saturday (not a must, but it makes it easier to cover the distances during the city rally)
The orientation phase (O-Phase) of the FSIs takes place every year on the weekend before courses begin. Here, incoming bachelor’s students from a wide range of study programs can explore the university and the campus of the Faculty of Engineering and attend various workshops designed to make it easier for you to start your studies and enrich your student life. The list of study programs for which the O-Phase is offered can be found above. You will also receive helpful information about studying and life at university. It is also an ideal opportunity to get to know future study colleagues (= fellow students) with whom you will complete your bachelor’s program.
This year, the O-Phase will take place from October the 11th to 13th, 2024 at the South Campus of the Faculty of Engineering. Here you can find the schedule and the latest information.
On Friday, October the 11th at 2:15 pm, we will start the O-Phase with the meeting between the two wooden lecture halls at the technical faculty (please be on time!). You will recognize us by our student council hoodies and shirts.
The actual opening will then take place in lecture hall H19 at Cauerstraße 5a.
Important information
- The schedule should only serve as a rough guide, the times may change slightly. Apart from the opening, the show lecture, the campus tour and the city rally, all events will take place in the EEI building at Cauerstraße 7-9.
- It is not a must to come to the O-Phase and you can easily leave for a few hours and then come back if you have other plans, but we highly recommend that you attend the whole weekend.
- No registration is necessary for the O-Phase, you can come just like that. Please download your certificate of enrollment on Campo in the menu “My Studies”, “Student Service”, “Documents” beforehand. At the beginning of the O-Phase, we will check that you are studying one of the listed degree programs using your certificate of enrolment and an ID card. If you have any problems with Campo, ask us about the campus guide and we will help you.
- The costs for food, drinks and all events are 5 € in total, which we collect at the beginning of the O-Phase. We also offer vegan alternatives for every meal.
